AREA RECORDING / INSERT Audio clip into track. in audacity.

 

Find a track that you want to test this one. make sure it has a lot of noise in the sample display.

HIGHLIGHT a small area in the recorded track. This is where you will do your overdub

 

on the transport toolbar (where play and stop is) press the LOOP BUTTON (with two arrows going around) to LOOP the highlighted sample.

This is not for looping. it's for manually MARKING the section you are about to punch and roll record with. JUST MARKERS FOR REMEMBERING POSITION.

 

Now go to menu transport->recording->PUNCH AND ROLL RECORD.

It will giVe you five second of play. then start recording. It doesn't matter how big sample track you make. it all get's truncated off.

RECORD   -> Done RECORDING Press STOP.

NOW MAKING NOTE OF THE LOOP MARKERS!:

move the mouse and drag the track bar around the track till you hit the far LEFT LOOP MARKER. the line should turn yellow AS THE TRACK LINE snaps into place.

Now HIGHLIGHT and move the mouse to the far RIGHT LOOP MARKER. it too will also turn yellow when it's on the loop marker..

Later you will have to restore the original punch and roll record HIGHLIGHT of data.

 

IMPORTANT: make sure you have both LEFT and RIGHT sides of the loop marker with your cut and paste HIGHLIGHT. It only works if you do.

This is so you have your punch and record data the exact same side of the AREA RECORD YOU WANT OVERDUBBED into the track.

now CUT the highlighted data out of the track. This saves a copy of it.

EDIT MENU -> 1:UNDO cut then 2:UNDO record

This will bring you all the way back to the original track data with the punch and record AREA highlighted.

Simply PASTE overtop of the highlight and you are all overdub done. remember the loop markers have to be extact when you highlight the second time.

you can zoom the track up a lot. but makr sure if the markers are there and they are both yellow lines from them you hae a good chance of success.

 

You have now recorded and inserted into track sound data..

4:highlight the area insert. use markers. They will yellow when your copy and paste line are on the loop markers. Make sure you get left and right guide lines on the markers. Zoom in. Make the track sample data larger with track sample view to get a better loop markers guiide lines yellow. Locked on loop markers

6:UNDO cut UNDO record puts you back to the original track with loop markers

7::after the undos you will be back at when you first highlighted punch and roll.

8: Simply paste the copy and paste buffer overtop of the highlight. PASTE new punch and roll data within the full track.

It's that easy. No more punch and record to the end of the track. wiping out all the data from a record and play.

Had a mail hacker from december up until jan 7 where I got rid of him. He must have hacked out an email address and then password.

Evreything got tightened up around here. No new email accounts. Kept only the ones i needed. Renamed a few and new passwords.

Also some settings on the mail server so he can not exploit smtp which run on this website. Can't really do much about a mail hacker on a business server but there are logs offline in case he/she tries again. so far for the past 3 days I have seen whoever it is trying to use smpt. Very little output. So he's probably trying to hack smtp again so he can do webmails out for whatever he is sending out. I don't appreciate it. I thought it was illegal to attack business servers. Problem is no one in vernon can do anything about it. I'll keep the data for whoever an press charges on this mail hacker. That will be later. So far the mail server is running smoothly. with no 50meg smtp mail sending from it.

I might busk early this year. I was so worried that the cold weather would destroy another guitar. Guitars aren't exactly cheap. I wasn't going to busk until may 1 2025 as it would have been definitely warm enough to play. My last guitar is in really bad shape, strings. wood cracked etc. But at least I can say I busked an entire year. Christmas was so cold. but so profitable. So I have a musician friend that says her drums can't go out in anything under 10C or they get destroyed. I figure a drum and a guitar wood would be similar to temperature causing damage. That theoretically means I can go busking in 10C and higher weather. So I might take a chance once it gets to 10C and go and busk. The usual spots. I am glad she told me that. or it would have had to wait till may. I don't want to lose another guitar due to weather temperatures and humidity. The last one is now garbage (but i hold onto it to remind myself) and this is my last guitar i own. Wish Me Luck! JATZEK

I stumbled for four hours today figuring this out from drivers to help files then finally got it working. Here's how

 

problem: behringer xenyx x1832usb does not record into any sound recording program.

 

First: install the correct drivers.

[1]:REMOVE ALL MIXER DRIVERS

meaning get rid of all old drivers with [DEVICE MANAGER] from control panel run in ADMINISTRATOR MODE] to remove them.

They will be in [sound input output] driver title in device manager and in sound card

go to widows page. press the down icon to have it go to programs. now scroll all the way to the right.

Look for [CONTROL-PANEL] in the last set of programs listed. RUN IT.

Now go to DEVICE MANAGER. right click and run in ADMINISTRATOR MODE.

from the DEVICE MANAGER LIST look for [AUDIO INPUTS AND OUTPUTS] uninstall all for [USB Audio CODEC] by right clicking on the name

 then pressing UNINSTALL from the item menu. Do it for all of them.

Now in the DEVICE MANAGER LIST find [sound, video and game controllers]. click on it to expand window

same thing find all occurrences of USB Audio CODEC. Right click them and uninstall them.

turn off machine. unplug the MIXER USB Cable. Start up machine in administrator mode.

 

[INSTALL CORRECT DRIVER FOR YOUR BEHRINGER]

Go to the behringer.com website. do a search for your model of behringer mixer. mine was x1832usb. Search "X1832USB Driver"

Find the latest usb driver from the results list in searching for it.

mine also cam up with a [ASIO4ALL_2_15_English] driver file. downloaded it then installed it while in administrator mode and the mixer usb unplugged.

It installed. Turn off computer with windows turn off selection

 (it may save setup files always do this) do not plug in mixer usb yet. . Turn on computer and boot in administrator mode.

once everything is loaded up. windows in initial booting time. plug in the [MIXER USB CABLE]

If done right. you should hear an audible tone that should windows is connecting new hardware. and it will be installed.

you need to install a fresh copy of the driver and the above is how i did it. NEXT:

 

[CONTROL PANEL]-[SOUND] SET UP YOUR MICROPHONE

LOOK FOR SPEAKERS [USB Audio CODEC]. IF ITS CHECKMARKED FOR DEFAULT DEVICE IT SHOULD RUN ALL COMPUTER AUDIBLE RECORDING TRACKS THROUGH THE MIXER TO THE MIXERS OUTPUT SOUND DEVICES.. YOU WANT THE MICROPHONE SO YOU CAN RECORD.

 

HIT THE TAB [RECORDING] look to see if [microphone #-USB Audio CODEC] is check marked as the default device. you are almost there. set it up

click on that microphone. then the [PROPERTIES] button do the following for the following tabs

[LISTEN]

[unchecked] listen to this device (the mixing board will allow you to listen to microphone

[checked] continue running when on battery power (to save any bad recording session due to the machine stopping recording

 

[LEVELS]

Set to at least 80% do not turn off the recording microphone with the speaker icon next to the volume bar

 

[ADVANCED]

[Default format] set it to the highest bit rate (mine was 16 bit) and the hz quality (mine was 44100 Hz (CD Quality)

[EXCLUSIVE MODE] So programs can change these settings

[checkmark] allow applications to take exclusive control of this device

[checkmark] give exclusive mode applications priority

 

NOW HIT THE [APPLY] Button on the button of the dialog window.

then press [OK] to save the sound settings.

I do this as to not add confusion between software and mixing board at later stages. the audacity or cooledit i use can override settings.

Sometimes for higher bit and hz settings then sound has. like 32 bit recording 96000 hz.

 

Ok now that you have installed the driver. and set up basic sound properties its time to test it.

 

[BUTTONS on X1832USB MIXER] Should be similar with other mixing boards

 

[CHANNEL 1 & 2] to the very far lower left of the mixing board

SOLO [OFF]

SUB [ON] i want it to remember channel 1 and 2 default sound setting and adjust them with the sub sliders for recording

MAIN [OFF]

 

[SUB 1 & 2] Right next to the main volume

[Sub volume sliders] adjustable. i also use the microphone volume dial to fine set it. always use the microphone volume knob till it feedback. then lower it with the microphone volume knob. fine turn volume with the SUB volume sliders.

for channel 1 &2 all four buttons for LEFT and RIGHT are = ON

[main solo mode switch] = OFF

top of the sub buttons

[2Tr/USB] = ON (red button)

[SUB] = ON

[MAIN MIX] = OFF

 

 [USE MAIN VOLUME SLIDERS FOR RECORDING VOLUME]

to the right of that is another RED button labelled [2TR/USB to MAIN] this is the most important button you can have for recording and live performances.

I take the time to rename that button from [2TR/USB to MAIN] to simply [RECORD/LIVE]

 

when you have the button =OFF it is in record mode. and you can only use the headphones to listen to and record into a recording program.

You can mess around with some of the levels and effects just remember when depressed its in [RECORD MODE]

When you press it ON it goes into LIVE MODE. The mixer speakers all go back on and you can sing through the microphone in track 1 &2 but it will simply NOT RECORD. That's because it is in LIVE MODE.

[INSTALL NEW DRIVERS] [REBOOT]

[PLUG IN MIXER USB] THIS INSTALLS THE NEW DRIVERS FOR THE MIXING BOARD.

[RECORD/????] SHUTS OFF THE MONITOR SPEAKERS AND STARTS UP THE HEADPHONES. YOU RECORD WITH HEADPHONES.

[?????/LIVE] TURNS ON YOUR SPEAKER SYSTEM AND HAS A PASS THROUGH FROM CHANNEL 1 &2 FOR LIVE PERFORMANCES.

I woke up on may 23 2025 thinking it was going to be a boring day. I walked to 711 got food . Saw an old friend on the way home. And went home.

I Decided it was time to learn the mixing board and recording software. Mostly from scratch experience. It took me over 4 hours just to get the mixing board to record into computer recording studio software. Well I did that. Then started recording and rerwiting 3 of my old songs. They have drums and bass in them now.

For three days I did this. With very little sleep. I think I got about an hour at a time of restless sleep. Mind racing.

So here's when the songs were played recorded and mastered then put into Mp3 Files.

in that order. it's now 6:08am on the 25th. I am done for a while. I might tweek those songs later on when I get around to it. But for now. I think they all soud ok for music. I need to get at least 4 hours constant sleep. Probably try around 8am. Go have a listen to the songs. You might just like them. "JATZEK - EVERYTHING" Not Still waiting for a valid copyright order from the original author of "Shooting Stars" Have left messages with him but He or She has not gotten back to me yet for copyright. I was amazed at his/her demo. Tried to write a song using it as reference. Being a copyright nut. I changed the samples with a ramp editor in kool edit. Changed the patterns around and wrote more music to it. Then when i was done I recorded my voice over it. The whole songs including backup vocal is a full run. From start to end. Doubled up the vocals and got what i sounds like today. I play it for when friends come over But am Leary to do anything write it even though it has been changed over 96%. So until the author of that demo acknowledges me and says what he/she needs on the copyright notice I will just keep it on my computer as work experience and leave it at that. If he/she does was co-authorship he/she will have to tell me what to put on it.

Then I will post it and put it on demo cds in an attempt to get recording studio time from professionals.. I'm even allowing %50 of the songs profits if it was ever to make any. %50 of the songs royalties, NOT for other songs on the album if i make one. I think its a good song now and says a lot about people scamming people for money by relationships even marriages. It was one of my first tracker songs I have written on top of since 1988 when I had an Amiga 500 and protracker.

I miss those days. But they can't be relived. Have to continue onward from here.

Spent AUGUST 28 2025 REMIXIN SONGS. A LOT OF THEM.

I started With JATZEK - The X Albums DEMO - NEW Side 1 and finished 5 songs in it. REMIXED and sounding good. Uoladed them to the website.

You should hear the .wav files of the songs, talk about sounding really really good, problem is they are over 100-200 meg each in size so no way I can put them on the CD.

I did however upload the big .WAVs to the website for uploads of songs. The website processed the huge file and made whateer it made from them for you to listen to or download.

 

Then I went and REMIXED/REMASTERED JATZEK - The X Albums DEMO - Side 1 & Side 2. A total of 12 songs. Don't know if they are completely done yet. But tried to keep the sound and the volumes the same througout the 12 songs. I also uploaded these. So The 28th and part of the 29th (late night) Has been nothing but REMIXING and MASTERING all the songs I have except for a small few that go onto the JATZEK - The X Albums DEMO - NEW Side 1 and possibly start the Side 2. It has been a hectic day. Doing all that work, writing note. Testing.

I even tested the NEW stuff on my AVR at volume 69.0. It was loud. These NEW Songs can definately be played in a nightclub. There all there for you to listen to. I will upload the rest as soon as I finish them. Maybe even start on writing some new ones. I use the playlist on my website (member only) to arrange them into two complete albums in order of play THE OLD and THE NEW. Then i just let it play. So far I haven't seen much of a problem with it. But it's late night on the 29h morning. I will test them again later. As for the NEW it sounds awesome with a 250 watt subwoofer and 100 wat 5.2.4 sound. I play it with DTS Neural-X to play all the speakers in my set up.. Well I better go to bed. it's 2:45am. I'm done.

 

Oh One More NOTE: On Payday I spent $142 for a chorus and a distortion effect plugin for audacity. I redid all my songs that were cut up with sound of not having the paid version of the effect plugins. They are all fixed now. And all the NEW Stuff is sounding good. EnJoY!
