JATZEK PERIODIC #4 - Scale and ShadowScale Patterns - SEPT 8 2026

_JATZEK

PERIODICAL #4 — PATTERN MILESTONE

Ten-Scale Verified Pattern Edition

Playable scale patterns and pentatonic / Primary ShadowScale overlays before chord construction

Pattern continuity: Every string contains three consecutive parent-scale notes within one playable fretboard position. Adjacent strings normally continue the scale sequence; when doing so would create an extreme octave displacement, the next string uses the nearest playable consecutive three-note group.

Three-note rule: Every parent-scale string retains three consecutive scale notes. Two-fret stretches are accepted; octave-displaced jumps, four-note strings, and slide markings are not used in this standard edition.

Pentatonic overlay: Gold markers identify the selected five-note overlay wherever its notes naturally occur inside the three-note parent-scale pattern.

Eight-pattern structure: Patterns 1-7 follow the seven scale-degree starting positions. Pattern 8 repeats the open-position D pattern one octave higher, beginning with D at fret 12, so open-string boundaries cannot hide or omit notes.

Universal fretboard standard: Every master and pattern chart uses the same frets 0–20 display. This prevents chart movement, protects fret-12 positions, and keeps all plotted notes visible inside the page.

DOUBLE-OVERLAY DESCENDING SCALES: Harmonic-Minor Derived Descending, JATZEK 1 Descending, and JATZEK 3 Descending each retain two independent ShadowScale overlays. A1 is the mismatch ShadowScale carried from the ascending form and used to construct or adjust the descending scale. D1 is calculated afterward from the notes missing from the new descending scale and serves as an independent verification overlay. A1 and D1 are separate entities and are not required to match. Every plotted note retains its actual-scale circle; a purple filled triangle marks A1, and a blue square surrounding the circle marks D1. Melodic Minor Descending / Natural Minor retains its ordinary single overlay because its ascending overlay is not a mismatch.
